Miss Miss-able
The irony of missing a person is that it’s possible to miss someone even if you’re with each other everyday! The subtleties of keeping in touch with someone you see 24/7 are as intricate as the how-tos of staying in touch with someone who’ll be gone for a long time. Don’t take this type of friend for granted! Show her how miss-able she is (even if you’re with her, day in day out) by taking cues from these tips:
Although it’s okay to have a steady routine with someone, it’s nice to introduce some variations from day to day. Don’t just do the same thing all the time. One day, ride your bikes in her village. The next day, have some halo-halo at the park. The possibilities that summer has to offer are endless so make the most of them!
Take turns writing in a buddy notebook. Write anything you want while the notebook is with you; then, when you see your friend, give it to her and let her keep it and write in it, too. By the end of May, your buddy book will chronicle your carefree summer days and it’ll be the perfect read when you need a break from all those books you’ve got to hit come school time.
Keeping in touch is as easy as 1-2-3 as long as you put your heart into it. There are a million and one ways to not lose contact with the people that you love—all you need is a little imagination, a small dose of creativity, and lots and lots of heart. Just remember that goodbyes are never final and all they really lead to is another “hello”!
