We don't really know how the hashtag #GrowingUpAGirl started, but when we read through the hashtag, things got a bit sad and frustrating. There are some that expressed the funny struggles of being a girl, but as you go over the other girls' tweets, the struggles of defying societies stereotypes has been expressed. Check out a few of the things we found here:
First, the hashtag covered common period problems.

Then people started talking about the real problems, like acting more like a lady.
But being called out for it if you do act like yourself.

And this kind of harassment most girls face every single day.
There's also that struggle of people asking you who you're trying to impress. Can't you get all dolled up for yourself?
And that common notion that the only reason you are and you can get annoyed is because you're on your period or you're PMS-y.

Some also tweeted about all the crappy things people tell girls while growing up...
And this tweet which pretty much sums up everything.
