Over the last couple of days, our news feeds have been flooded with all sorts of reactions as to how the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) 2019 has been panning out. If there’s anything we can conclude for sure, it’s that Filipino creativity is indeed, limitless. Aside from the memes and the witty tweets, the event was something of significance especially to those who paid extra attention during their Hekasi and Sibika classes.

The official opening of the 2019 SEA Games was graced by none other than Filipino Olympian gold medalists across various sports—Lydia de Vega-Mercado, Eric Buhain, Alvin Patrimonio, Akiko Thomson-Guevarra, Efren "Bata" Reyes, Paeng Nepomuceno, Bong Coo, and Onyok Velasco. As seen on their reactions on Twitter, everyone remembered how, at one point, they were simply learning about these people from their textbooks.
