Job hunting is a staple #adulting task, especially for fresh grads. But given the new normal brought about by the pandemic, the process of looking for employment shifted to digital platforms, which made it more daunting and unfamiliar than it used to be. It’s not all bad news, though. For the fresh grads out there who are searching for opportunities nonstop, there are still employers who want and need you.

According to JobStreet’s COVID-19 Job Report published in August 2020, the job level that is most in demand among hirers at the moment are the entry-level roles, giving more opportunities for the younger members of the workforce. JobStreet’s research reveals that among the positions employers are looking to hire in the next six months, 78 percent are junior to entry level roles. Specifically, 45 percent are entry-level and fresh graduate positions.

In terms of the career fields or functions that are currently still being hired, accounting roles take the lead with 33 percent, followed by sales/CS/business development roles at 33 percent, and IT roles at 26 percent. Other in-demand roles among hirers include those related to human resources, engineering, banking and finance, and marketing and public relations.

If you’re someone who’s interested in doing public service, there are also government job opportunities that are recently made available. JobStreet, in partnership with the Civil Service Commission (CLC), is launching an online career fair on September 14 to 18 for those interested in exploring employment opportunities in the public sector.
