I didn't sleep a wink the night before my first day of high school —I was too excited! I was a bit nervous at first but was super glad to see one of my favorite friends was in the same section as mine :) —Mia, Editor in Chief
It was fun and exciting. I was a little worried I wouldn't jive with my new classmates, but then again, we were seated alphabetically, so that meant I was seated next to my ka-barkadas. Haha! I couldn't wait to trade summer stories with them before the bell rang. —Mimi, Managing Editor
I usually spend the first day of school catching up with my friends and talking about what we did over the summer. I also remember being extra neat and careful when taking notes because I don’t want to mess up my new notebooks! Haha! —Angel, Associate Features Editor
I'd always be excited for the first day of school... But at the same time, I'd be nervous about meeting my new classmates, and sad that summer was over. It was a very confusing day. Hehe. —Margaux, Associate Fashion Editor
I transferred from a relatively sheltered Montessori to a much bigger Catholic school, so I was the new kid and felt like everyone was talking about me. I was super paranoid and self-conscious! I remember I wore these ridiculous platform shoes when everyone else was wearing normal sneakers, and I hardly spoke to anyone at first. It turned out people WERE talking about me, but only because they were curious and not because they didn't like me. Thankfully, I managed to survive and ended up making friends and fitting in. —Marla, Assistant Lifestyle Editor
I was super excited for the first day of high school (well, it's always exciting to see your friends after the long summer vacation). I remember heading to my school and sitting in our Multi-Purpose Building with my friends, waiting for our first General Assembly. —Macy, Web Deputy Managing Editor
I'm always excited about the first day of school every year. Excited to wear my new school shoes, discovering who my classmates will be, and catching up about summer kwentos with my friends. :) —Roch, Web Staff Writer
