These days, plenty of college students have started to turn their passions and hobbies into income-generating businesses. Even with zero entrepreneurial experience or knowledge, young hustlers take it upon themselves to learn the tricks of the trade. Below, we list down four homegrown brands that were created by entrepreneurs when they were college students:

Habi Footwear & Lifestyle

This social enterprise focusing on promoting sustainable products and homegrown craftsmanship actually started out as a college thesis project by Ateneo de Manila University graduates Janine Chiong, Paola Savillo, and Bernadee Uy.

Factory

Factory is a vintage-themed clothing label started by Fed Pua as a junior college student. Since then, the label has been rebranded into Factory Boy. The label has been worn by several celebrities and influencers, and was even featured in the indie film Baka Bukas.

GVN the Label

GVN, formerly Giovanne the Label, was founded by sisters Keisha and Kaitlin Lao who are both from Ateneo de Manila University. "We actually get our inspiration from the bags we see while walking around the mall, in the Ateneo campus, on Instagram, Facebook, or random ideas that float around our heads," they share in an old interview with Candy.
