Ellie Goulding is one of today's most famous singer-songwriters, with tons of hits at just 28 years old. But did you know that she's a big fitness addict, too? Yep, this girl with the super powerful voice shares that running was her first love (she's already got 5 marathons under her belt). But running isn't her only workout, she also likes to tackle all sorts of exercises like boot camp, boxing, and Bikram yoga.
Because of her passion for fitness and sports, the singer has just been made an ambassador for global athletic brand Nike. Not only that, she even designed an all new workout for Nike+ Training Club (a fitness app that you can download for free), which will be open for everyone to try starting March 2nd. The newest 15-minute Get Lean workout will incorporate all of Ellie's favorite training moves, alternating metabolic drills with high and low intensity movement for a full body workout to help burn calories and keep you mentally and physically engaged.
When asked about what it feels like to be a role model, the singer shared "I feel quite proud to be an ambassador for women who realize that being fit is better than being skinny. I like the fact that I can be that role model. I still think there's a little bit of work to do with promoting fit, not thin. But it's getting there."
For tips on her secret to keeping on track when it comes to fitness, Ellie said "I think having a yin and yang with exercise is the important thing for me. I love to do high intensity training, but I also love to take it easy. I say take it easy, but doing yoga is not easy," Goulding laughs. "Doing something different every day keeps things fresh, exciting, and interesting."
Ellie is definitely an awesome example of what being fit should be like and we definitely can't wait to do her own workout when it comes out!
