A little rain shouldn't put a damper on your party if you've booked an outdoor venue for your debut. To help you get ready for an awesome outdoor celebration, see our tips below.

Have a backup venue in case of heavy rain
You can't control the weather, so you might as well be ready in case it rains hard on the day of your party. Wherever the venue will be, it's ideal to have a Plan B (or even a Plan C). Check with your supplier if there's a nearby indoor venue in case you need to move your party, or have tents ready if you're expecting just some light showers.

Play complementing music, and make sure the sound system's good
Music is one of the elements that set the mood of your debut, so make sure it complements the venue well. If you're on the beach, you can set a fun mood with upbeat music, or play calm tunes at a laid-back garden venue. Another important thing: get a good sound system provider. You want your guests to hear the host and the tunes despite being in an outdoor venue.

Think of the lighting
An indoor venue will surely be equipped with lights, but with an outdoor space, that's not always the case. Make sure there's ample lighting, and remember to check the voltage specifications of the venue if you're bringing a lights supplier in. For an evening affair, you might want to set a welcoming ambiance by hanging lanterns from trees or lighting paths with luminaries.

Make sure the menu fits the venue
The food you'll be serving should not only be based on your favorites, but rather on your venue and the season as well. If you're celebrating on a hot summer afternoon at the beach, make sure to serve cool drinks and other refreshments. If your party falls on a cooler month, include hot soup in the menu to keep guests warm.

Keep guests comfortable
Make sure clean comfort rooms are easily accessible
at your chosen outdoor debut venue. Also hand out other favors, like umbrellas, fans, or shawls in case it rains or temperature changes. You may also give out insect repellant to make sure your guests won't suffer from mosquito bites as they party with you.
