Being athletic runs in Ysay Rivera’s veins. The Iskolar ng Bayan shares that she got inspired to pursue the same field because both her parents are athletes and that even her sister is into dancing. She started to play volleyball at age 10 and hasn’t stopped since. After years of being in the game, Ysay learned that sports is so much more than just winning and taking home a trophy.

“It is not only what I achieve inside the court but also the life lessons I get from my coach and the support I get from my family and friends,” she says.

As a Candy Rookie, Ysay is ready to be as spontaneous as she can be and bring her all to the table. She’s excited to work with her fellow Rookies as well as use her creativity and voice to influence other people in her generation.
