There are things in life that we are always *afraid* to try. Like bungee jumping, entering haunted houses, rollercoasters, sneaking out in the middle of the night then going back before your parents woke up, and even telling your friend that you like him/her is kinda scary.

But what if you ask someone to be your boyfriend through a Powerpoint and Zoom presentation? That takes guts, TBH. But 19-year-old Reinier Dela Llarte, a Philosophy student from UP Los Banos, did exactly that (although a bit of alcohol in his system helped him confess his feelings to his friend).

Recently, Reinier’s tweet about asking his friend to be his boyfriend went viral. On his Twitter account @Reinierdlrt, he posted a screenshot of his presentation that says, "Vernon, I love you, will you be my boyfriend?" that again, made everyone say, "sana all!"

It all started when they met in October 2019 during their beach volleyball finals and that's when he started to have a crush on him. Reinier got a chance to see him again in January this year during an inuman with his friends that were also mutual friends of the guy. Later that night, they took their friends back to their dorms and left him with the guy and two of their friends alone and hungry, which led them to eat lomi.

"'Di pa kami umuwi [noon] kasi nagutom kami, so nag-lomihan pa kami."

Their short trip to lomihan led Reinier to confess his feelings to him.

"Habang papunta [doon], nag-confess ako sa kanya. Ayun, nagulat siya. Nagulat din siya kasi akala ko straight siya, so ayun, nag-kuwentuhan pa kami."

When he finally went back to his dorm, Reinier DMed him.

"Pagkauwi ng dorm at exactly 3:55 a.m. ng January 24, nag-DM ako sa kanya. Tinanong ko kung puwede ba siya i-pursue. Super kaba ko dito."

The guy eventually said yes on pursuing him. The next day they went back to QC together and that became their first date. Fast forward to July, the guy decided to shift to Fine Arts from Sociology and wanted to boost his art account on Instagram. Reinier, having a huge following on his own art account, volunteered to give him a lecture on how to *grow* on Instagram and that's when his plan to ask him to be his boyfriend started.

"Since mag-si-shift kasi siya into fine arts, so kailangan niya palaguin yung art account niya. And since art account ko continuously nag-i-increase ng following, sinabihan ko siya na bibigyan ko siya ng lecture on how to grow on Instagram. So ayun, para surprise at hindi halata, plinano ko na rin kung pa'no mag-po-propose."

And the guy said yes!

The original plan of the proposal was through a scavenger hunt on their beach outing but COVID-19 happened so he decided to do it through a Powerpoint presentation via Zoom instead, and it's ~perfect~.

According to Reinier, he wouldn't have the guts to tell him that he likes him back then if it wasn't for that inuman sesh.
