It is no secret that Filipinas are beautiful both inside and out, and we are so proud and happy that the world can see it, too! We have been claiming all the crowns of beauty pageants and this year's Miss International title from Candy Girl Kylie Verzosa was a very welcome addition!
Pandas are no longer endangered
According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the population of pandas rose by 17% from 2014 up to this day, which got them out of the list of endangered species. See, we really can save the world bit by bit if we just work together! (via worldwildlife.org)

We had Frank Ocean’s return through Blonde, Beyoncé’s Lemonade, Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo, Rihanna’s Anti, and so much more.Â

Aside from the great movies that were shown this year, the highlight goes to the new set of MMFF movies!Â
Millennials got more involved with social issues
From creating socially relevant memes and hashtags to taking it to the streets, Millennials are continuously making their voices heard, especially in terms of discussing national issues. Â
Free tuition fee for state universities and colleges
As an early Christmas gift, the government announced that students of state universities and colleges can benefit from free tuition fee starting 2017! Yay!
Hidilyn Diaz becomes the first female athlete to win an Olympic medal for the Philippines
Her silver medal was the country's first Olympic medal in 20 years! Not only that, she was also the first Pinay medalist for her sport, which is weightlifting and the first Filipino non-boxer to nab a medal since 1936.
