Nothing compares to the joy you'll feel when you get in your dream school. That's not the case for everyone, though. But just because you got rejected the first time around doesn't mean it's over. Majority of universities allow applicants to apply for reconsideration, so that could be an option for you if you're really determined to study at your dream institution. However, it's not exactly that easy.

University of the Philippines student Rica Janine opened up about her experience with appealing for reconsideration back when she was still trying to apply to different schools. In her YouTube video, Rica shared that she initially wasn't on the list of UPCAT passers. When applying for reconsideration, every UP campus has a different University Predicted Grade (UPG) cutoff. The UPG is the combination of one's weighted UPCAT score and weighted average grades in school. It is also said that this also takes into consideration socioeconomic factors. This will be a big factor when it comes to applying for reconsideration.

Aside from that, some courses will also require an additional interview with applicants. For the interview, Rica warns that you must set a good first impression and to just keep in mind UP's motto, "honor and excellence."

Lastly, you'd also have to be mindful of dates and deadlines! There are certain dates set for making an appeal, so be sure to always check announcements of UP's official website and platforms.
