Give your resume a makeover with these helpful hacks!

It's not every day that your dream company posts a call for interns, so it's best to be prepared for when that moment comes. Here are nine hacks you can apply in your internship resumes from none other than YouTube's Intern Queen herself, Lauren Berger.

  1. Remove the skill section if there's nothing outstanding.

"We're past the point of students needing to say that they're proficient in Microsoft Word or Excel. That is not needed. You don't wanna take up any space with any text that isn't a hundred percent necessary and isn't really gonna help sell you to the employer and help you land the internship."

  1. Show campus affiliations or leadership experience.

"Make sure your campus leadership is on there and explain what you do especially if you hold an important position in your organization."

  1. Make sure your resume is relevant for the position you're applying for.

"Have a focused resume. Print out the internship listing, go through it with a highlighter, and see what they're looking for and tailor your resume [to the internship you're applying for] so that it has a certain theme to it."

  1. Use only two fonts.

"Choose two fonts to work with and utilize them throughout the resume. It's okay if the font size is bigger in certain places, but you don't want a mish-mash of fonts everywhere."
