While some musicians lived and breathed music even in college, many of the popular artists today started out with a totally different career path in mind. Music used to just be a side project or a hobby for them, but now it's become their main hustle. Below, check out the courses these artists took in college:

Jeremy Zucker

One of Jeremy's most popular songs is "comethru", which garnered him fans worldwide. Jeremy initially started out on a pre-med track in college. He graduated studied Molecular and Cellular Biology at Colorado College before committing to a full-time music career.

Stephanie Poetri

Most known for her global hit "I Love You 3000", Stephanie didn't think music was a career option she could pursue at first. She was supposed to major in Psychology in college, but her debut single blew up and opened an opportunity for her to work on more music. She dropped her second song, "How We Used To", from her latest EP, AM:PM, on January 14, 2021.

Matty Healy from The 1975

The frontman of the English pop rock band The 1975 briefly studied music in college but eventually dropped out to be able to focus on making music and writing songs. "School was just a tedious imposition, getting in the way of me being a pop star. I was just looking at the clock, waiting until I could go and do it," he says in an interview with The Guardian. Their discography include "Robbers", "Chocolate", and "The Sound".
