A lot of us feel that in order to become someone in this world, we have to change into anyone but ourselves. This is a big no-no. We naturally hate fakers, so if you turn into someone you're not, trust us, even you yourself wouldn't like you. People stand out because they stay true to who they really are. They stand out because they're able to carry themselves in a way that not many can. You're already a wonderful person, own it like you mean it. We all know that's easier said than done, so for those Candy Girls who just can't erase that feeling of inadequacy, here are 5 steps on how to stand out without changing yourself!
-
Acknowledge the good and bad parts of you.
No one is perfect. This cliché speaks the truth, and that's why you shouldn't be afraid to discover your flaws. There's nothing wrong with exploring who you really are and finding out the best and worst parts of you. Don't be in denial. And it's not just denying the imperfections in you. You also have to be aware of the good parts in you. You're living in a world where people are quick to impose labels and judgements on other people. And if you don't even know who you truly are, you won't be able to stand your ground. People will end up dictating who you should be based on who they think you are, and you'll unconsciously allow them to.

Love yourself for who you are.
When you've come to terms with yourself and have the courage to finally say, "This is who I am," next comes the hard part: Loving yourself. It's not easy to get to this point, but you'll get there slowly. Just remember that this is who you are. You're a unique individual, and your imperfections are there to push you into becoming a better version of you. If there's anyone worth loving, it's yourself. Give yourself permission to appreciate yourself wholeheartedly.

Surround yourself with positivity.
This will come in handy in achieving the previous step. Surround yourself with everything positive. Know the people who love you for who you are and treasure them. They'll help you love not only yourself, but also everything else in the world. Positivity will make you see the beauty in everything, and this includes you. You'll need a constant reminder that you are, in your truest nature, already an extraordinary person, and that you don't have to change your inner depths to be loved.
-
Be confident.
When you've achieved steps 1-3, this will naturally follow. It won't matter if people try to bring you down with lies and gossip, knowing your true self will overpower anything else people say about you. If you understand and love yourself, sooner or later, you 'll find that you're also able to believe in yourself. Moreover, because the people around you affect you with their positivity, you'll be able to believe in the best version of yourself. And if you believe in yourself, that confidence will manifest itself without you even trying.
-
Do the things you love.
Lastly, how do you apply all those steps? Do the things you love. This is where you'll shine the brightest, more so when you're confident and in love with every minute of what you do. Don't do things out of peer pressure or against your set of values just to catch people's attention. When you do the things you love, it becomes evident in how you carry yourself and how you interact with the people around you. It also shows in how you perceive yourself. In achieving all these steps, you've already arrived at a stage where most people can only wish to reach. People will naturally notice the kind of aura and atmosphere you radiate, and that is what will make you stand out without having to change yourself.
