Believe us when we say that the the best dates don’t have to involve the fancy stuff. It’s all about truly enjoying each other’s company regardless of the setting. Sometimes, all you need for that special “night out” with your man is right under your nose—literally. So set up the sofa, have a bowl of munchies ready, or even get some candles lit, whatever it is that floats your boat. Then call him over so you could snuggle and put your feet up, even, while having a TV show marathon to your heart’s delight. Here are our picks of shows you’ll enjoy watching with your boyfriend.

  1. New Girl
    New Girl
Now on its fourth season, prepare to laugh out loud with the simply adorkable Zooey Deschanel as Jess and her misadventures with her main squad, Nick, Schmidt, Winston, Coach, and Cece. It all started when Jess moved in to the L.A. loft of three single guys after dealing with a rough breakup. The latest season, in particular, focuses on what’s next for Nick and Jess. The characters’ odd, quirky, and fun shenanigans will surely keep you glued to your screen.
  2. A-Z
This is an endearing tale of when extreme opposites attract. When the hopeless romantic guy meets a not so typical girl. Despite their differences, they fall for each other anyway, so you can’t help but root for them. The series follows Andrew and Zelda’s relationship timeline chronicled from “A to Z”. Unfortunately, the show got cancelled and will only continue on until the letter M (“Meant To Be”), but we can only hope it gets picked up again. Fun fact: Felt like you’ve seen Zelda somewhere before? It’s because you have! Cristin Milioti also played the doe eyed mother we all fell in love with on the hit show, How I Met Your Mother.

  3. The Flash

It’s no secret that men are the biggest geeks and fans when it comes to superheroes. The popular DC character is brought to life and serves as a treat for Comics aficionados. It exists in the same universe and is a spin-off from that other DC based superhero turned television series, Arrow, where Barry Allen made his first appearance to investigate a suspect who is likely to have super powers. Arrow also made a guest stint on The Flash soon after. Rest assured, Candy Girls like you will appreciate the series as well. Its action packed but its light natured feel will draw you in.
  4.  American Horror Story

We dare you to go see this show with eyes wide open. Granted, this horror-thriller will definitely have your heart beating faster than usual, but wouldn’t it be nice to have your man by your side and get tons of cuddles in the process? Recently, it just got renewed for a fifth season and for good reason. Each season, which in itself is a miniseries with a beginning, middle, and end, as well as different storylines and characters, trails on twisted formulas with varying themes at its core that keeps audiences hooked nonetheless. Put on a brave face, girl. The freak show is worth the watch.
  5.  Sherlock
Everybody loves a good old detective story, especially if it’s Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman were made for these roles and deliver chemistry that is so on point. Apart from untangling mysteries that will keep you on your toes for a full length feature running 85-90 minutes per episode, the show’s humor and wit is golden and a delight to watch. While we all wait for the fourth season out in 2016, we can marvel at the charismatic bond between our favorite detectives by catching up on all the glorious past seasons.
