In one of her #AskAlexa vlog posts, Alexa Ilacad answered some personal questions sent in by her fans. Some of which included her most embarrassing moment, her first crush, and how to move on fast from a heartbreak. Although she admitted that she's never experienced being heartbroken before, she still shared her two cents on the topic, and her answers make a lot of sense. Below are her short but sensible tips, to which we added some advice to:

  1. Know that everyone has different coping mechanisms.

What may work for your friend or your loved one may not work for you. No matter how much advice you get, it's important to know that it's within you that you can get and find answers from.

  1. Focus on the things that make you happy.

It's easier said than done, but if you make an effort to see the good in your life and focus on them instead of sulking on the could've- and should've-beens, it'll somehow help you accept what happened easier.

  1. Take as much time as you need.

Moving on is not a contest and the first one to do so isn't exactly (or the only) winner. Take your sweet time getting over your feelings and when you finally do, you'll realize how it's important to work at your own pace.

  1. Always, always, always talk to God.

Ask Him questions and let your feelings out. Whatever you do, know that He has plans for you and that it will all make sense, maybe not today, but at the right time.
