Upon hearing that our favorite K-Drama is going to be shown on a local channel, we can't help but feel equal parts excitement and dread. We can't wait for the rest of the country to watch and realize how good the show is, but at the same time, we fear that the Tagalized version might not give the original show justice. Do you feel the same way? Here are other things you might relate with: the five thoughts that go through every K-Drama fan's mind while watching a Tagalized version of a show she's watched in Korean.

  1. "Ang pangit ng dubbing."

Most K-Drama fans who watch the Tagalized version of their fave shows are instantly put off with the dubbing. It's either we're just used to the actors speaking a certain voice (or way) or the dubbing is really off. For most of us, it's the latter.

  1. "Why did they cut so many scenes?"

Having watched the show prior to the tagalized version, we know the order of scenes in the original series. In fact, we have our own favorites. So it's a bit disappointing when you're looking forward to a certain scene only to find out that it didn't make the cut.

  1. "That line definitely got lost in translation."

Since you already know what will happen in the show, you tell your friends or your family members to pay attention to a particular scene that you find really sweet or funny. But because it's delivered or translated differently, they don't get the joke or the gesture. Fail!

  1. "It feels funny listening to them speak in Tagalog."

The guy you were swooning over because he's all kinds of cute? Hearing him speak our language kind of changes his personality. It's like realizing that your crush is just like most of your guy friends after getting to talk to him.

  1. "Nakakakilig pa rin."

Despite the differences in the original and tagalized versions, we still watch it because it still brings a smile to our faces (especially the kilig scenes!) no matter how funny or weird or annoying it may be.
