  1. Get lots of sleep and wake up early. The only way for your body to be fit, strong, and healthy, is by getting lots of sleep, which is why it's important to sleep early and get in at least 7 hours of sleep. Also, if you want to be active, waking up early is an important habit to have—this way you get to do more in a day. Plus, you won't have any excuses to not squeeze in a workout.

  2. Drink lots of water. Take good care of yourself by staying hydrated. Your body loses a lot of water throughout the day especially in the summer, so make sure to replenish by drinking tons of H20 as much as you can. This also helps in keeping you active.

  3. Portion your meals. Pigging out once in a while is definitely okay, but when it comes to your everyday meals, moderation is the key! This way you don't only get all the energy you need for the day but you also won't feel sluggish and sleepy from being too full.

  4. Don't forget to squeeze in some fruits and vegetables into your meals! There are so many creative ways to introduce this food group to your daily diet (in case you're averse to leafy greens). Start with green juices and mix up different fruits when you get the urge to snack.

  5. Stay active. Exercise and working out don't have to be confined within the four walls of a gym. You can be active by doing everyday chores, walking your dog, or even throwing a full-on dance party with your bestest friends! The important thing is that you're having fun.

  6. Move your feet every day! Don't give in to your lazy temptations of taking a car everywhere you go or always going on the escalator/elevator. If you're going somewhere near, why don't you just walk? If it's just two floors up, take the stairs! It's a simple and effective way of staying active and you won't even notice it.
