This Christmas season, it's really easy to get caught up in the chaos of everything–preparing for Noche Buena, the countless Christmas parties, and of course, last minute Christmas shopping. What happens if you start feeling like the Grinch because of the stress and (gasp) just want to skip Christmas and the hassle altogether? Here are some of our tips to turn that Grinch-like disposition into awesome Christmas spirit!

  1. Have some me time. You're probably tired from all the social gatherings this season. It's okay to take a step back and spend some time with yourself for a little while. Just make sure that you don't decide to be a hermit for very long, or people might start thinking you've ditched them.

  2. Do something relaxing. Pop some bubblewrap, calm down with a cup of coffee, draw, write, or browse your Instagram feed. You need to relax so you can feel recharged for the rest of the season. Stick to the things you love doing and you’ll find yourself happy and feeling festive soon enough.

  3. Tell someone you trust. When you've tried doing the things you love and you're still all stressed and cranky, it's probably best to find a trusted friend and talk your heart out. Maybe it's not just the Christmas season that's got you down? Share it with a best friend and find out the root of your stress. A friend can help you release your frustrations and make you feel better.

  4. Remember what the season is about. All the Christmas rush may stress your heart out, but always remember what the Christmas season is for–it's the season for love and for sharing. All the things you're stressing about, buying gifts for all your loved ones, preparing for your Christmas parties, amount to nothing if you don't step back and think of this. Remember this, and you might just find yourself turning that frown into a smile.

I'm a Candy Girl because I am a modern day Elle Woods, refusing to be boxed by stereotypes. Liking pink and other girly things does not mean I can’t do things society does not expect of me. I am a Candy girl because having flaws do not limit me from chasing my dreams and standing up for what I believe in. I can showcase my smarts and skills, all while looking my best.
