Currently the author of eight books, which have been translated to thirty different languages, and one of which—Fallen in particular—has a movie adaptation that will premiere on November 9, we sought the help of YA New York Times bestselling author Lauren Kate in overcoming writer's block. Here's what she has to say:

  1. Explore different angles.

"Try writing the same scene from a different point of view to see if that could open up something for you."

  1. Listen to music.

"Music really helps me get into the emotional place of the character. My husband makes a playlist for me for each book I write. Music's really inspiring."

  1. Read a lot of books.

"I read a lot of books when I'm stuck. I read a lot of poetry. It kind of helps to loosen some things when I'm feeling stuck."

  1. Just keep writing.

"Write though it. Don't give up."
