A classic. My style is vintage classic! I love everything and anything vintage-inspired!Know other stylish girls? Post their links on the comment box below or post in TeenTalk.
Shoppers haven. I shop from thrift stores to department stores to online stores!
Favorite fashion designer. I must say Anna Sui for her quirky pieces and Balmain for fierce and structural pieces.I know it's off my vintage vibe but I can't help but gush over their pieces!
Always worn. Black ballet flats. They are comfortable and fashionable at the same time. They go with everything!
Inspired. By the 1920s and 1950s era. I'm amazed with how women sashayed in high waist full shirts and long flowy gowns.
Favorite style icon. Audrey Hepburn. She made the ballet flats a staple in anyone's wardrobe. Not to mention those pearls she wore in Breakfast at Tiffany's! She defines classic and femininity.
Style influences. I must say browsing all sort of local and international magazines helps. I also have to give credit to fellow Chictopians whom I adore. I also grew up in a family where vintage is cool (my parents love buying antique and bringing us to different vintage stores way before Cubao Expo when I was a kid). I grew up listening to The Carpenters and Dionne Warwick. You can really say I was born to be a vintage baby!CONTINUE READING BELOWFeatured Video
Closet's color palette. I wear cream/nude colored pieces most of the time in light fabric (chiffon is great). Manila weather has gone really crazy so I try to dress light as much as possible. I always bring a cute cover up just in case it gets chilly.
Never wearing that. Shoulder pads. Again, trends come back we'll never know maybe I'll be wearing it with my favorite lace top and high waist skirt.
Stylish three. Pearl earrings, ballet flats and a LWD (little white dress).
Comeback trend. Full skirts from the 1950s.
Vintage hand-me-downs. A lot! I think I have all of my mom's clothes from college. She gave me her wide-legged trousers (circa 1970s), her BIG earrings (circa 1980s) and her never-been-worn BASS brown loafers (circa 1990s). Fashion changes but style is eternal. These trends may not be of the present but I'm sure sooner or later it would be a hit. Fashion revolves and evolves;) I believe in what Carolina Herrera said, "Individuality is created by the way one puts the clothes together." So whether it's vintage/thrifted or from a designer it's all about mixing and matching clothes!
