Opulent style. Definition and consistency with a dash of opulence.
Top shopping haunts. Oh I shop everywhere imaginable—from Harvey Nichols, to Topshop, to H&M, to SM, to vintage shops, to charity shops, to ukay-ukay, to car boots. When I love something, I couldn't care less where it came from.
Fave fashion designer. Recently, Galliano.
Outfit topper. Fine jewellery. I'm always bedecked and dripping in them.
Style inspiration. My grandmother. We used to have Sunday lunches at my grandparents' house every week and my cousins and I would scuttle to her dressing room after the meal. We'd put her jewellery on, spray ourselves with her perfume, open her drawers of jewels, and cabinets filled with all sorts of costumes and clothes. She had a bad habit of never getting rid of anything. My mother finds it reprehensible that I'm such a hoarder, but I can hardly be blamed for it. It's in my genes.
Fave style icon. Jackie Onassis, Lady Amanda Harlech, and Daphne Guinness.
Style influences. It may sound silly but my weight influenced my style. Growing up, I was about as unattractive as a ferret. I was fat and had horrible, spotty skin. Looking back, I'm very thankful for that because at a young age I learned to cultivate other interests apart from fashion. I read voraciously on anything and everything written about Jackie Kennedy and was so inspired by the Camelot that I created a fantasy for myself and did everything I could to achieve a look of my own.
Colors in my closet. An overwhelming sea of black.
Never ever. Jeggings. I seriously think I'd develop an allergic reaction if I put it anywhere near my skin.
My stylish three. A pair of long opera leather gloves, a wristwatch of a good make, and a sterling silver filigree evening bag.
Comeback trend. I want flattering clothes back, please.
Vintage hand-me-downs. I own a ton of vintage pieces and always make it a point to incorporate at least one vintage item to every outfit. Apart from my lola's jewels (most of them are from the '40s-'50s I imagine), I also have a vast array of vintage clutches and bags from the '20s onwards. Just last week I got myself a pair of vintage Roland Cartier shoes from the '80s. The heel is lined with diamantes! It's so impractical but I nearly died when I saw it, so I had to have it.
