While being petite comes with a lot of perks a.k.a. you always look adorably young, having a tiny frame can be challenging, too—especially when it comes to shopping for new clothes to wear. To make sure that you fill your closets with pieces that will flatter your petite frame well, we're listing down five shopping tips every petite girl must know to build a wardrobe that's fashionable and always flattering.

Go for a V!

While we believe that every girl can wear anything that makes her feel confident and beautiful, it won’t hurt to use some styling tricks to further enhance your best features. Swap your crew shirts with V-neck top to elongate your torso and look taller and leaner in a snap.

Don't be afraid to alter.

Shopping for a petite frame is a challenge—especially since not all stores carry a petite line. Whether it's a pair of jeans that's too long for your frame, sleeves that are too long, or too baggy pieces, don't be afraid to bring your new purchase to the alteration doctor. Sure, it may cost you a little more than usual, but at least your new finds will flatter your frame better.

Check your shoulders!

Because the petite girl's frame is tinier compared to other women's, some tops may be too big. When trying on a new top, always check if the top of your sleeves are sitting on your shoulders, and not dropping to the sides of your arms.

Choose crop.

It may be a common joke among petite gals that a pair of crop pants becomes a regular pair of pants for them and a crop tee is just a regular shirt, you have to admit, cropped pieces fit the petite frame better! A pair of cropped pants that hits just above your ankles is your best bet while a crop tee paired with a high-waisted bottoms is a fool-proof outfit combination for petites.

Opt for short sleeves.

If you're looking for the perfect third piece to complete your fashionable OOTD, opt for a sleeveless jacket, or a short-sleeved one for a sleeker, and less bulky outerwear.
