If you have a certain design in mind and you can't find a similar one in stores, you can have your favorite seamstress make one for you. You can have control on how your dress will look like and you can ask your seamstress to work with your budget. You can even have an old dress or gown altered and fixed to make it look a little more formal. Use accessories like statement necklaces to glam up your simple dress.
