How I Started: Undo Clothing
Meet the woman behind Undo Clothing!

Starting out a business may already be daunting for most people, but not for Kyla Zuñiga who started her biz when she was a still a freshman in college! Read on to find out how she started one of the most successful online biz in the country in this week's "How I Started."

When it started. "I started Undo Clothing when I was still in first year college."

How it started. "Actually when I first started, my brand was called It's About Hue, but I decided to do some rebranding last 2014, and renamed it to Undo Clothing."

Why Undo Clothing? "I want to create pieces that are wearable to cater to the stylish girls who are always on the go, but need and want to look good all the time."

Young entrepreneur. "Yes and no! Apart from Undo Clothing, I also work on another brand, The Ilustrados and am also a freelance fashion stylist. Thus, being an entrepreneur can be consuming in all aspects. From dealings with my supplier down to dealing with different clients all at the same time, I learned that in business I have to keep my grace at all times despite all the pressure in doing research, putting everything into action, brainstorming on marketing, looking for distributors, managing websites and social media, fabric shopping, designing, etc.."

Drawing inspiration. "I draw inspiration anywhere. From the people around me to different artists, and even the market!"

A different kind of partnership. "For Undo Clothing, I work with my mom. Working with her definitely has its pros and cons, but it definitely made our mom-daughter relationship stronger than ever."

Little challenges. "When it comes to UNDO's style, some people are weirded out by some of the pieces that we have. It's a challenge for us to let them know that while the pieces may be unique, they are really wearable even when you're just doing something as mundane as shopping."

Staying original. "With Undo Clothing, I make sure that the branding is always in line. Branding is a store's market identity. Your branding is who you are, and what sets you apart from the other brands."

What's next? "It's my dream to expand the brand, and to have more branches in the future. I am also currently working on UNDO entourage. Then maybe, we can also have UNDO Men, UNDO kids, and maybe UNDO home. We'll see."

To young budding entrepreneurs. "Building my own start-up business seemed impossible at first. I needed to cut back on my personal expenses, I had to do all the work from operations and finance to marketing and sales, you name it! Sometimes I even felt like 24 hours is just not enough to spend time with my family, my friends, and even for myself. But you know what? Because I love what I do, everything became possible. So, just keep doing what you love, and everything will work out in the end."
