5 Outfit Ideas to Wear to Your Next Concert
With a slew of concerts lined up this year — from Phoenix, Ariana Grande, The Chainsmokers, and Ed Sheeran —you may already be planning your outfits to rock the night out with your friends.
While music merch is always a good idea to wear, you might want to take it up a notch. But always take note of where the concert will be held so you can dress accordingly. If you're stuck in a style rut, we put together five outfits below that are fit for every concert venue.
The best and most practical advice we can give you when it comes to outdoor events is to wear sturdy shoes. When dressing up, take into account the weather as well. In a tropical country like ours, it can rain at any point of the day and if there's anything we've learned from fashion and nature, mud does not look good on shoes.
Make sure to wear footwear that will survive the night, too! Complete your outfit with dark pieces that will mask the sweat and dirt to ensure you're still looking chic by the end of the night.
Mango Sequined message t-shirt, P1495, Greenbelt 5; Stradivarius Leather effect corset with eyelets, P995, SM Aura; H&M Fine-knit pants, P2990, SM Megamall; Topshop Marco buckle boots, P5175, Topshop.com
2. Open Grounds
You may not have mud as your enemy here but you should still consider other elements that are outside your control. For example, your fellow concert-goers! You may not be jumping up and down the night away, but surely other people will, and trust us, they will unintentionally stomp on you. It's better to wear shoes that will keep your toes covered and protected. Slip on your fave logo tee and statement skirt and add some edge by wearing fishnet socks!
Guess x A$AP Club Collection Boxy Ringer Crop Tee, P2898, SM Megamall; H&M Tiered mesh skirt, P2290, SM Makati; Topshop Large fishnet ankle socks, P260, Topshop.com; Bershka Neoprene-like mid heel ankle boots with metal heels, P2590, SM Aura
3. Smaller venues
Smaller venues like gastro pubs and clubs allow you to dress more freely. That said, it's time for you to bring out low block heels to give you a little sultry boost without the heel pain. Wear a pair of bedazzled denim jeans and a cute top so you won't look too overdressed.
Zara Embroidered asymmetric bodysuit, P2290, Greenbelt 5; Topshop Petite Rose embroidered mom jeans, P4495, Zalora; Bershka Mesh mid-heel sandals with ankle straps, P1990, Shangri-La Plaza Mall
Indoor concerts are usually held in domes and arenas. Since you're in an enclosed area, it's best to wear something comfy that will let you dance the night away. This calls for you to bring out your athleisure pieces and dress them up to for a night event.
Vero Moda Stinne Lurex Singlet, P1299, Freestate.ph, H&M Pants with eyelet detail, P2290, SM Megamall; Zara Embroidered leather crossbody bag, P5995, Greenbelt 5; Stradivarius Combined sneakers, P2290, SM Aura
Concerts don't just mean pop stars or rock bands belting out their hits, it can also mean concertos or symphonies. If you happen to get invited or snag tickets to these, they're usually held in auditoriums and call for more dressed up attire. Wear your statement dresses and tops and add a little shimmer to your look to stand out.
H&M Wrap dress, P2990, SM Makati; Parfois Holiday clutch, P1590, SM Megamall; Pull & Bear Silver mid-heel sandals, P2295, SM Megamall

Poetry #1 YOUR SMILE
Just the thought of you gives me fluttering butterflies in my stomach. I love the way you smile like there's just too many passion inside you. It gives me warmth-- your warmth that needs to spread in your cheeks, in your eyes, the wrinkles on your nose and on the corner of your temples that I wanted to kiss with pure gentleness.
When you smile, I always trace back the years when I haven't known you. Where I didn't have the chance to smile back and talk to you even for a short time. To intertwine your fingers in mine or put my arms around you and feel all the vibrations inside you that gives me warmth, comfort and joy. I love seeing you smile even virtually-- because it makes me relive all the times that I still got the chance to see you personally. That is now becoming a beautiful blur.
Sagip Kamag-aral project: Save A Student was launched as a fundraising initiative that aims to provide tuition assistance to the Student Assistants of the University of the East - Manila. The school administration removed the SA Scholarship Program due to the negative impacts of the pandemic COVID-19. With this, 60 hardworking Student Assistants may not be able to continue their studies in the university. Nineteen is a rather unremarkable age as it is not as celebrated as the age before it nor is it considered as much of a turning point as the age after it. However, this is the time when you find yourself smack in the middle of enjoying your teens and worrying about becoming an adult.
More often than not, you'll start to wonder whether you made the most out of your teenage years or whether you're ready to take on the responsibilities of being an adult. This constant dilemma will leave you anxious and confused. But, don't beat yourself up because this is the beauty of being 19.
You are no longer the foolish teenager who thought he/she was the center of the universe because now, you are old enough to start thinking like a grown up who understands that you are but a tiny speck in the whole solar system. It doesn't mean that you are insignificant but rather, that you are part of a colossal existence. This realization will enable you to make the right choice. And as you navigate the remaining days of your teens, don't forget to look back on the lessons you've picked up through the years and look forward to what lies ahead of you in the future.
BUWAN (Reverse Poetry)
Isinulat ni: Zamira Ariola
Ang liwanag noon
Nagsilbing gabay ngayon
Ang nagpapanatiling buhay
Sa pusong pagod
Sa pusong wala ng laman
Sa pusong wala nang nararandaman
Ikaw ang nagdala
Bakit nga ba?
Ikaw ang minahal
Ikaw ang ginawang mundo
Para magkasilbi ang buhay ko?
Bakit ikaw ang nagdala ng liwanag?
Ikaw ba ang buwan?
