Online classrooms are quite a different setup. The four corners of your classroom have become the four corners of your screen. Whether on Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams, think of your display photo as your ID picture in school. When you don't have your camera turned on (either to save data or to simply just avoid having your classmates see you in your PJs), at least your prof and your classmates would still find a pic of you that's ~cute~ but classroom-friendly.
