After making headlines at BLACKPINK's Born Pink World Tour concert in Manila for her viral promposal to boyfriend Ricci Rivero, Gen Z star Andrea Brillantes is creating buzz once again—this time around, for her jaw-dropping prom dresses at the Star Magical Prom 2023!
The 20-year-old actress, fondly referred to as Blythe by her friends and fans, didn't miss the chance to make a sartorial statement as she prepared for her first-ever prom experience. Enlisting help from her go-to stylist Eldzs Mejia, she knocked the Bridgerton theme out of the park with her custom Michael Leyva frock, a fringed column dress fully embellished with crystals. She sprinkled extra pizzazz to her look with a diamond choker necklace, a pair of drop earrings, a sparkly headband, and some white gloves adorned with rhinestones.
Not seen in the photo: As a grand finishing touch, Blythe also did not forget to add a dramatic train. Now that's how you make an entrance!

That said, while Blythe looked totally stunning in the white frock she ultimately chose to wear on the ivory carpet, we simply can't get another gown out of our heads: the one Michael teased us with on Instagram just a few minutes before the evening affair!
ICYMI, the local designer also uploaded a short video of Blythe wearing another prom dress from what seemed to be her fitting. It was a fully-embroidered, strapless ball gown in the dreamiest shade of teal. Peppered with rhinestones that cascade from her bodice down to her feather-accented ball skirt, it's simply the stuff of fairytales. "My Prom [Queen]," he captions it.

Since his post, we've been racking our brains trying to figure out why the gown felt so familiar, and then it hit us: Blythe looked just like America Singer in the cover image of the best-selling novel The Selection! The young adult dystopian romance novel, which was penned by Kiera Cass, revolves around a female lead who entered a competition called the Selection to win the heart of the prince.Â

Coincidentally, on the book cover, America also wears a strapless ball gown in the same hue. Apart from that, her red hair looks strikingly similar to Blythe's copper tresses. They're both surrounded by mirrors, too! So uncanny.
For all we know, Blythe might actually be a fan of the novel and was really inspired by it! But whether this was pure coincidence or not, we can all agree on one thing: She looked absolutely gorgeous! Enjoy your first prom, Blythe!
