Love, Angel, Music, Baby. Gwen Stefani is such an inspiration. Aside from being a talented musician, she is one of the few people who has managed to reinvent herself again and again. I also devour a lot of fashion blogs. Right now, I am smitten with Susie Bubble's quirky, eclectic style. Her balance of whimsy and sophistication is something I would like to achieve for myself in the near future.
Whimsical influence. My earliest fashion influences came from my Barbie dolls and the paper dolls that I would buy like crazy outside our school. This transitioned to dress-up games that I played for hours on the internet. Until now, a lot of stuff that is geared towards kids tend to affect the way I dress, such as Japanese anime, cartoons, and Alice in Wonderland. They are largely responsible for bringing the fun and whimsy into my wardrobe.
The basics. Boots, sunglasses, and pearls.
Trend rebirth. I would be thrilled to see full-skirted dresses, petticoats, and gloves make it to everyday wear again. It probably wouldn't be very practical, especially in our tropical climate, but it would be such a beautiful sight to see everyone dressed so lavishly and elegantly!
Vintage hand-me-downs. A few Christmases ago, I wore a vintage dress that was handed down to me from my grandmother. It was a half-turtleneck that had a colorful striped skirt with shorts underneath. It was the real deal, down to the hot, uncomfortable polyester fabric it was made of, but it was so much fun to wear!
