A Complete Guide To Online Shopping

Here's everything you need to know before you join in on the addicting world of online shopping!

Online shopping is a lot more popular than ever now. Mostly because it's just so easy! You can just sit comfortably in your own home and you can buy anything you want with just a click of the mouse. If you're in need of a new wardrobe, school supplies, and beauty essentials but you don't have the time to go out, that doesn't mean you have to say good-bye to shopping altogether! Online shopping is here to save the day (but not necessarily your savings). But before you start joining in on the online shopping bandwago, there are a few things you need to remember and we're sharing with you our very own tips!

  1. Type the name of the product you want to buy on the search box. For Instagram, you can use hashtags to be able to look for the products you want to buy. If you plan to order locally, adding "ph" to the hashtag reduces the posts to only those that are sold in the Philippines

  2. It is important to check the authenticity of the shop. Ensuring that the company has a good online reputation is always a good idea. The customer feedback section can help you with this since it provides you with the right information on whether or not past customers were really able to receive the products they ordered and also if they were satisfied with what they bought.

Take note: Most Instagram accounts that are solely for the purpose of “giveaways” are fake. Yes it's sad, especially if you want to get your hands on that gift certificate you’ve been eyeing but it’s better to be safe than sorry–especially when your personal details are involved.

  3. This step is the fun part! When you are able to verify the account, it's now time to choose your items. But be ready because it can get overwhelming, especially because of the neverending number of choices that a lot of online stores offer. Another thing to remember is that online shopping can get addicting, making it hard control yourself, which is why remember to have the items you really want in mind before opening your browser.

  4. It's an actual fact that shopping for shoes and clothes online can be such a bargain. But you still need to take note that sizing widely varies across different stores and brands, some may even create their own sizing chart.  So make sure to read up on sizing information. If the store does not stick to the one size fits all basis, they would (most of the time) have a size chart. Measure yourself. It is better to go by your own measurements than by the size you may think you usually are. After you've figured out your size, you will realize how the size chart is actually a lifesaver—less confusion and less time wasted! Because having to send an item back because of wrong sizing can really be a big burden, especially if you've been dying to get your hands on what you've ordered.

The items you will be receiving may not necessarily look exactly the same as the pictures that you saw online. It is important to ask the seller to send you actual pictures of the clothes that you'll be ordering, just to make sure that the pictures are not deceiving.

  5. When you've already decided on the items you want to order, its now time to send in your order form! But you need to be mindful when entering your personal information. Be sure to enter the correct details because it's always best to avoid the hassle of having to deal with a lost order because you entered your information wrong. It's good to remember that aside from the usual full name, cellphone number, and address (which you should only give when there is shipping involved), you should never give too much information about yourself unless absolutely needed.

If you do choose the shipping option, don't forget to record the details of your purchase. Always remember to take down the time, date, receipt number, and confirmation details so that you will be aware of when your product should arrive its destination.

  6. Enjoy! Shopping online is easily one of the best things ever created. Knowing that you're expecting a package in the mail is always thrilling and something to look forward to. The best part (that can almost feel like Christmas) is when you finally get your brand-spanking new stuff in the mail!

When everything around you suddenly turns dark, the first thing we'd prolly do, as humans, is to find and grab anything that is closest and nearest to us. We'll hold onto them for as long as we can, trying to collect ourselves and gather courage to adjust our eyesights to the pitch black environment that's consuming us minute by minute. And then you'd hear nothing. Your sense of hearing would somehow go off after not seeing anything for quite awhile. You'll let loose. Cry. Panic. You'll be exhausted for fighting your way out. Then just when you're about to stop and give up, you're no longer afraid. There's only this deafening silence and pithole of darkness that's gonna eat you up alive. And surprisingly, you'll make a home out of it.

You'll make a home out of the darkness that when a ray of light suddenly hits you, you'll try to avoid it. You'll try to cover your eyes. You'll try to cover your ears from the voices trying to help you get out of it. You'll try to hide because your mind and body will go against your will to come out and live. Because the darkness that used to scare you, now comforts you in a way you thought has helped you survived life. And you'll try to live. Day by day. In the darkness. Not knowing where to go. Not knowing where to start. Not knowing who is with you. You will try to live until the darkness that once surrounds you is now within you. And everyday, it's gonna be a cycle of subtle torture. But let me tell you a secret. The darkness won't make you whole.

You'll be broken. And in those hair-like cracks, the light will stubbornly fight its way through until it warms you up. Until you realize to check the switch and turn it on. Until you allow other people to help you find your way back in the light. Until you realize you're ready to live in light again. There's a light at the end of this long and dreading tunnel. The only question that matters: will you let them in?
