We Had a Deadline
You and I
Gave this spark a little try
Making sure nobody would pry.
It worked for awhile,
Just you and I.
Your lips looked so much better when you smile.
And when your hands were intertwined with mine,
The weather was so fine.
You stayed the night and kissed me at 11:59.
Your fingertips running across my spine,
And your lips touching my neckline.
So much had happened from our baseline.
Little did we know we also had a deadline.
Our plans got really misaligned.
And the scariest part has arrived—grapevine.
And yes, we are currently on the headline.
From the start, we should have had a guideline.
Now we couldn't tell if the blame's on you or if it's mine.
A week had passed by,
I guess there was no more "you and I."
We would no longer bling each other's hotline.
Maybe it's time to say goodbye and stay offline.
Our favorite songs will no longer make me high
But gone are the days when I tune in and cry.
For now, it may still be a little cloudy
but I know, someday, it's going to be sunny.
Don't worry. I am trying to be okay
Even if I used to believe in Ariana Grande.
Almost is enough and that's our reality.
You're free. I have accepted your apology.
There is no need for you to repay
The pain from yesterday.
