Candy Feels

From Our Readers: You Don't Know How Amazing You Are

Turn that spark inside you into flames.

Every day you wake up with either beautiful thoughts in your mind or time-consuming reveries you still carry on your shoulders from your not-so-fine slumber.

Every day you wake up conditioning yourself that today is going to be a good day, that today something great will happen, that somehow today is positively different.

Every day you hope to be someone different, you hope to be someone who isn't living the ordinary life, you hope to be the better person you want to be.

But facing the realities of this life, no matter how much you clean up your thoughts, no matter how much you hope for something to be positively different, you always end up living the habitually, average life that you have. No matter how many times you say today is the day—the day that change is going to come—you still end up doing nothing and just end up anticipating again for tomorrow to be that day.

You do nothing because it feels like no matter what you do, you are still the same person. You are still no one. You enclose yourself in that mere thought of doing nothing because you triggered that thought in your head.

But when you are once again being dragged down by your own adversary, look at your surroundings. Look at how the sun is rising from the horizon, how comforting the wind is, how you feel home eating mum's cooking, how amusing it is playing with your dog, how mesmerizing it is listening to empowering songs, how liberating it is to write and voice out your own thoughts, how a blessing it is to wake up every morning, still breathing.

How every little thing around you is significant, a blessing to be accompanying you each day. That's when you know you are not just a nobody. You are not just a nobody that's lost.

You are someone great, and that greatness is an impending spark inside you waiting to be found and turned into raging flames. With you is every potential there is, just never give up on discovering it.

PRIMO.

First. Pixie dust and paper cuts – these are the first things Wendy knew about Peter Pan. Aurora first met Prince Philip when she was sixteen. Learning how to ride a bike was also a first while I was growing up, but you are probably the first of too many. The first collection of dust and stars; maybe Luna will try to ask, who was your first? I might answer and tell her that it was you.

The first of too many stars in the sky. You are the first of too many fallen leaves during fall – and you will be the most anticipated snowflake as winter comes. A dark path that you can’t see without any light, hence, you were once the moon and there are the stars that shine so bright at night. Are we too early? Or we just really want to be ahead of time? Even in a glimpse, I would like to see the two of us connect as if we can reach the sky. There are other parts of the heavens you have never saw and other oceans you haven’t laid your feet onto – but the constellations will always wait for you. Close your eyes, love, close your eyes. Start counting backward: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Count backward until you see the twinkling lights that will guide you to the right path. To the right satellite; to the right person. A first.

There are many firsts – first love, first heartbreak, first sport you played, the first thing you do in the morning, the first thing you remember about the person in front of you. There are a lot. It’s actually up to us how we will consider something as a first. So, Primo, you are already a first of too many.
