"I hope you know how much self-confidence I lost when nobody wanted to dance with me on prom." —AG
Aside from debut parties and weddings, prom will be one of the most unforgettable moments a girl would treasure her whole life. She will surely prepare everything—from her voguish gown, her fancy heels, her splendid makeup, and her should-be flawless hairstyle. She'd surely aim to be the most beautiful girl of the night.
But how would she feel when nobody wants to dance with her on prom night?
It will be very heartbreaking, really. She will continue sitting on her chair, asking herself why that's the case, while her friends and classmates are making the most out of the night. The worst thing that could happen? She will cry because she feels unloved, unimportant, and unworthy.
Then one moment, a guy classmate will offer her his hand for a dance. She will feel so delighted because finally, somebody offered her a dance. Then he says this unexpected line, "Your best friend forced me to dance with you." Those words ruined her night, her world. Should she thank her best friend for the forced dance?
She felt more down than the usual. She just wanted to leave. She didn't want to look pathetic. She will never ask for this.
Every girl deserves to have a dance on prom night. I want you to know that it'll be one of the most precious nights for you. You would not want to see yourself running towards your mother in tears just because no one wanted to dance with you. You are precious and I hope you would not let the moment slip out of your hands when someone does dance with you. Maybe you should also try putting yourself on her shoes. How would you feel? Devastated, right? I want you to know that you will be one of the luckiest guys when you dance with her.
To every girl who also felt this way or to every girl who share the same situation, rather. I know that this situation made you the strongest and the greatest person now. I know you are showing them how special and precious you are. And I also know that those guys will regret the night they never danced with you.
Thank you for being brave. Thank you for facing the reality that not everyone will understand your worth until they have learned to dance with you. I want you to continue being the strongest and show them what it's worth to dance with you.
You are special in every way, even the littlest way. Don't think of yourself as unpretty, unloved, unimportant, and unworthy. They are blind for not seeing everything you are. To every girl who will be having their prom this February, I hope you get the best dance of your life.
