From Our Readers: To Me, He Is Poetry
I wrote you a poem, art that's all about the universe and you.
I wrote letters and poems for you,
Letters and poems that you've never received and read before.
But you never will, it's just too late.
If we were living in a young adult novel,
It would be a hopeless dystopian era,
I would narrate our perfect fairy tale beginning,
And a vanishing, tragic cliffhanger ending.
I will tell them the day you laid your eyes on me,
Our moments sweeter than songs and romance stories.
I will proudly discuss all the details of our glory days,
And how I fell on your spell, charm, or maybe your angelic face.
But unfortunately, we are the star-crossed lovers,
Two individuals that were not meant to be together.
My love, I will still treasure our story,
Our story that was more tragic than Romeo and Juliet's.
I never wished for you to be my forever,
All I want is to spend my time with you, for us to be together.
And it is not your soul that haunts me,
It's the absence of you that haunts me the most.
It makes me happy that you're not living anymore in a dystopian world.
Because I know you're in a better place right now.
We may not be together anymore or maybe only right now,
But I know God and angel's company is better than mine.
