Don't let that bad feeling win.

In this kind of modern world, people expect girls these days to usually want to be a commercial model, a beauty queen, the team captain of the cheerleading squad, a girl with good fashion sense, or just be popular in school.

That girl can might happen to be your best friend or the prettiest girl in your barkada. Sometimes, that girl can also be your sister who got picked out as the Reyna Elena in this year's Santacruzan.

You're not insecure about them at all, but there's still this bad feeling inside you, and it makes you feel a little sorry for yourself.

I know you can relate to how I'm feeling.

We all know for a fact that it really is hard to let go of that bad feeling. Maybe it's been there all along, waiting for the perfect moment to creep up on you and make you feel like you're the littlest person on the face of the Earth.

But here's the thing: even if that feeling never leaves, I told myself that I have to at least do something about it. Then I came up with a plan, a plan to avoid it and distract myself instead.

So if I'm ever having that feeling again, I always try to tell these words to myself:

I may not be pretty all the time, and that's okay with me.
I may not be the prettiest girl in the room, but I know I am beautiful, and that's the only thing that matters at the end of the day.

Telling yourself that you're beautiful is never a bad thing; it's not being conceited. It's a fact; we all are beautiful in our own unique way.

You are beautiful,
You have always been,
And you will always be.

Keep that in mind, always.
