From Our Readers: Be As Brave as Athena
In Greek mythology, Athena is the goddess of war. She is a woman who lives with great power and a strong heart—an attitude that every woman should have in order to make it through life's challenges and difficulties.
We have all experienced failures in life, when we plan things and they turn out not in the way we wanted them to.
In my case, my biggest failure would be not graduating on time; falling in love with my best friend and loving him for two years (he didn't like me back, unfortunately, and said that he'd rather be my friend); staying talentless for about 20 years of my existence (I don't know how to play any instrument or play any sport); and I am definitely not an achiever in any way.
After dealing with all of my failures in school, life, and even love, I have come to the realization that I am still young and it's not too late for me to find the things that I could excel in. All I have to do is have enough courage to take chances and to face new things.
The graduation song will still play even if I do not graduate on time. I know someone is patiently waiting for me to love him as much as I love myself. It is not too late to enroll to a class that could enhance my skills and deepen my interest.
I have to learn to stand up and deal with them in the same way Athena dealt with her battles. In every teardrop, always remember that it is much better to smile and enjoy the life you've been given.
