Candy Reader Poetry: It's Always Been You
It was your eyes that I saw,
They captured my heart raw.
It was your voice that trembled,
low and comfortable,
that honestly made me fall,
and did it surprise me? No, not at all.
You were the type, that would hold me when I'm cold,
that would fight with me when I feel bold,
to hug me when I cry,
when all my favorite characters died,
to love me when I'm at my worst,
And to appreciate me at my best.
It was you, always you,
that I thought of
day and night,
dawn until dusk.
And it will always be you,
until the oceans run dry,
till all the birds in the world cannot fly,
till mountains are blown by the wind,
till the sun rises in the west and sets in the east,
upon my heart,
It will always be you,
A hole will be carved,
If ever you're gone,
I will forever be scarred.
