What I Learned from My Twisted Tooth

It plainly meant that problems should not be cast away immediately.

I had a tooth that was twisted in its growth. It was intended to repair the bone through the means of braces. Many people commented that the twisted tooth should be plucked. They believed that it was no use at all due to the fact that it emerged wrongly. However, my orthodontist planned to rotate it until it reached the normal position. She believed that if it was plucked, the part of my lip that covered the tooth would deform. In order to rotate the twisted tooth, a few of the healthy teeth were plucked. There would be enough space for the twisted tooth to occupy once it started to turn. The result was amazing. The process was going on according to plan. I learned that if there was something wrong, the solution would not always be about the disposal of the thing.

We thought that the problem was the thing itself only. We did not notice that the problem might affect other things connected with it. It plainly meant that problems should not be cast away immediately. We had to deal with them, or else, they would create larger problems. Problems should undergo the procedure of repair. It might mean the loss of other good things, but the benefit would still be worth the sacrifice.

After the loss, bad things would turn good. Along with them would be the goodness of the whole. Life would not be all about gaining. It would be about weighing and choosing. You would pluck out problems, suffer their bigger damages, while cherish the untouched good things beside them; or you would turn right what was wrong, pluck out the good things that hindered the repair, and attain the goodness of the whole.
