Loving Someone
Why does love take us,
To those who won't love us back?
Why does it take us on a high, only for you to come crashing down.
Hitting the ground,
Faster than when you were on that cloud.
Why does love take us,
To those who won’t notice?
Who don’t think day and night,
Of you, or of things you’d do.
Unlike us, they wouldn’t smile over the little things.
Over the way you think they’d look good in this or that.
Or the way you would love to run your fingers through their hair.
The way love makes us go wild, it doesn’t let you second guess.
It’s like blind faith, but then
Who is to say that faith isn’t blind.
After all, love does strike you when you least expect it.
Charming you, it's enthralling, you can’t breathe at all.
But at the same time, it breathes life into you.
It brings light to your life, but in an instant.
It can take all it brings.
