Fading Portrait
I still remember it all—our first date until the last. Before you met me, I was the first page of a blank sketchbook looking for someone to put some color in my life and draw memories with me. And, you did. When we were together, all I could see are the brightest colors like a painting made with a pastel pallette. While we were walking around the panorama of beautiful places, time passes so fast like we were living inside a flip book. We were shaping hearts and engraving the word "Love" with our hands. How it all ended? I forgot. As far as I remember, I was painting a sunrise while your eyes were full of sunset. A beginning and an end. These days, I'm still haunted with flashbacks of places and moments but I can hardly remember your face. How do you look like? Because your face is becoming a fading portrait to me. Day by day, a piece of yours disappear like it wasn't meant to stay in my mind for a long time. Maybe that's what time does—slowly erase facial features of someone you once loved and all that's left to you are the colorful memories. Then, you start again at the next page of your own sketchbook.
