Is It Better to Stick to One Brand for All Your Skincare Products?

Pagdating sa skincare, stick to one ba dapat?

Put a finger down if you use one brand for your moisturizer and another brand for your cleanser. It’s a common practice for a handful of us to try as many skincare brands as we can. Even though skincare lines often carry various products that are enough to create a typical skincare routine, it’s still possible for customers to mix and match products from different brands. You might prefer the toner of brand A and opt for the serum of brand B. But have you ever wondered if it’s better for your skin if you stick to just one brand for all your products?

Stick to one vs. using different brands

There are various pros and cons to sticking to just one brand, and plenty of skincare experts will have differing opinions as well. For instance, products from one skincare brand are supposed to complement each other. On the other hand, exploring various brands widens your choices and allows you to really find the best products that suit your skin.

The products complement each other

Expert Kelly Erripi of European skincare brand Bioten says that being loyal to one product line or one brand is better if you want to get the most out of the products. “[It] creates synergistic effects and maximizes the [benefits] from the products. You can use it with other products, but it’s best for over a period of time if you synergize with the line,” she shares.

You eliminate the guesswork

For many skincare newbies, trying to understand all the ingredients and what they're supposed to do can get confusing at first. Experimenting with various products is also a trial-and-error process that won't immediately produce the results we hope for.

Sticking to one brand helps narrow down your choices specifically to  cater to the benefits you're looking for. It also takes off unnecessary skincare steps from the equation to simplify your regimen into a skipcare routine.
