These Tattoos Aren't Only Pretty, They're Meant To Inspire People with Mental Health Issues, Too!

Truth: Tattoos aren't just for fun's sake, they're a form of self-expression. Plus, it's undeniable that they add great style, too! But when artist Francesca Timbers was still a college senior back in 2011, she turned pretty tatts into something more meaningful—an inspiration for people who are suffering from mental health issues.
In an interview with Huffington Post UK, Francesca shared her own battle with depression and anxiety, which motivated her to start Motivational Tattoos. "What I felt in that moment; helpless, trapped, like I was in a burning building, and this was the only way out. This is something many people have felt in some point in their lives, but considering so many people experiencing it, we hear so little about it," she said.
Selling cute, but powerful non-permanent tattoos and stickers that remind people to just breathe when things start to go south or that everything will pass, not only do her products add an instant dose of quirk, it serves as a great reminder that first, there is absolutely nothing wrong if you're suffering from any form of mental health. Wear it on your sleeve or on your wrist, and own it. After all, acceptance is the first step to solving any problem.
Second, mental health isn't an ugly issue that should be concealed. It should be openly talked about. That way, everyone who is having problems will know where to ask for help and people who aren't facing mental health issues will know what to do in case someone they know is having troubles.
Lastly, it serves as a great reminder that whatever it is that you're going through, it will pass. And although it might seem hard to believe this when you're feeling down, you're more than enough to conquer them.
