The internet is a treasure trove of genius hacks and sometimes, really bizarre things, too, which includes makeup trends. Makeup trends are so hyped nowadays that beauty addicts will do anything for likes, views, and of course, virality. But from the silisponge to using chicken cutlets to blend one's makeup, that's just the tip of the iceberg for girls who choose to use unlikely tools to apply their foundation. Scroll down and see just how weird the internet can be. As if you needed more convincing!
Who knew your socks could double up as a beauty sponge? We hate to break it to you, Candy Girls, but it doesn't. YouTube beauty vlogger, Mayra Touch of Glam posted a video of herself applying her foundation with a sock. She even went as far as saying that it’s "the next beauty blender." What a reach!
Plastic-wrapped beauty sponge
Why fix something that's not broken? This YouTube guru probably didn't think this one through when she decided to wrap her BeautyBlender in plastic cling film. The aftermath wasn't so bad, but we just don't get the point of it all.
This trend came about when everyone started noticing that the silisponge looks exactly like a chicken cutlet or a bra insert. It wasn't long enough before someone tried it out for themselves. This isn't the worst way to apply foundation, but it's still pretty ridiculous and out-of-this-world don't you think?
Light bulb (Yikes!)
This YouTube vlogger may be the only one who thought that using a light bulb to apply her foundation is a good idea. While other hacks may be pretty interesting to watch, there's just really no way to make this one work. Hopefully she or anyone for that matter won't be trying this again any time soon!
Makeup artist Atreona Willis used a tomato to blend her foundation to shut down haters and trolls who left hateful comments on her page and show everyone that they can use whatever the heck they want to blend their foundation. After all, at the end of the day, makeup is still a form of art!
Pushing this whole trend to the extreme, this makeup enthusiast decided to give her take on this trend by using a hardboiled egg to apply her foundation. Safe to say it didn't work like a BeautyBlender or a foundation brush, but hey, it was entertaining to watch!
Would you try any of these bizarre foundation blenders out?
