How Long Should You Wait In Between Layering Skincare Products?

Whatever your chosen skincare routine-slash-products may be (bec let's face it, maraming options and it really depends kung saan ka hiyang), how and when you apply the products are just as important.
For example, applying them in the wrong order could render some products ineffective, and mixing up ingredients that contradict each other can also damage your skin.
But another factor to consider (which we frequently overlook) is the interval in between applying products on your face. While most skincare products available in the market now are made for layering, a feature on Allure.com notes that, while research may be limited, "experts seem to agree that waiting for each product to fully dry before reaching for the next is your best bet, whether that takes a few seconds or a full minute."
"This is because certain product textures can roll up if you apply them immediately after one another," explains board-certified dermatologist Kim Nichols. "A waiting time can [also] help to penetrate a product that is designed for a specific place, such as a spot treatment on a blemish."
Aside from waiting about a minute in between products, you might also want to follow the 60-second rule when washing your face: you let facial cleanser stay on your face for 60 seconds before washing it all off.
All these extra minutes may take up some time, but for optimum results, patience is truly key. Take your time, and think of it as a few more minutes to breathe, relax, and practice self-care.
