Yesterday, Selena Gomez launched her very-first makeup collection called Rare Beauty. On the pop singer’s Instagram account, she posted teasers of her beauty line that she has been working on for two years now.
The brand offers beauty essentials in a *pretty* and minimalist packagings like eyeliner, blush, tinted lip balm, lipstick, primer, luminizer, lip cream, face mist, and 48 shades of liquid foundation. Yes, 48. Hence the brand’s vision to “create a safe, welcoming space in beauty and beyond that supports mental well-being across age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, cultural background, physical or mental ability, and perspective.” Included in the collection are makeup tools like sponge, brushes, makeup bag, hair clips, and blotting paper.
Aside from beauty products, the brand also launched a fundraising project called “Rare Impact Fund” that aims to provide funds for mental health services for underserved communities.
“Supporting the mental health of our community, employees, and partners is core to everything we do. By celebrating our uniqueness and supporting each other, we aim to reduce the stigma associated with talking about mental health and to reduce feelings of loneliness.”
By purchasing their products, you are helping the fund as well because 1% of Rare Beauty’s annual sales will be given to the Rare Impact Fund. Good job, Selena.
Rare Beauty products are only available on rarebeauty.com and Sephora.
