OMG! This Girl Almost Died for Not Washing Her Makeup Brushes
When it comes to playing with makeup, we always say "Ignore the rules and just have fun!" because makeup should be all about that right? Fun? While we hate to box anyone with beauty dos and don'ts, there are a few rules that demand your attention such as washing your face before hitting the sheets and religiously washing your makeup brushes, too!
Seventeen reported a story on 21-year-old Katie Wright, who felt a giant pimple forming under her skin. Totally normal right? Well, as soon as Katie popped the giant zit, "her face started to swell and intense pain set in." Yikes! When she got to the ER, Katie was informed that the "zit" she popped was actually a serious case of Cellulitis. "It affects the deep cellular tissues with no main source to attack," she wrote on her Facebook.
The worst part is, if left untreated, Cellulitis can cause blindness and even death. Luckily, Katie was able to treat the problem and is now warning girls everywhere to stop using dirty makeup brushes. "This most likely happened from bacteria getting into my eyebrow pencil brush. I'm super strict on washing my face/beauty blender/brushes, but I never thought to disinfect my eyebrow spoolie."
How often do you wash your makeup brushes?
