How to Properly Fake a Tan, According to Julia Barretto
Going to the beach isn't the only way to get a tan. You homebodies and office bugs can achieve a sunkissed look, too! No tanning salon sessions required. Through the magic of makeup, you can sport glowing, bronze skin in minutes—and Julia Barretto is a testament to that.
According to her makeup artist Anton Patdu, the actress wanted to try a new look. So they decided on glowing, tanned skin. And since Julia is naturally a mestiza, Anton had to layer a few key products to achieve that look.
For a glowing, golden base, he primed Julia's skin with Laura Mercier's Radiance Primer to give her "that golden glow underneath." Then, he went two shades darker than usual with her foundation using the NARS All Day Luminous foundation in Stromboli. He applied this evenly all over her face and body, along with Nuxe's Multi-Purpose Dry Oil with Golden Shimmer for a next level highlight.
Anton also warmed up Julia's face with Laura Mercier's Candleglow Powder in #6 and sculpted her cheekbones with Make Up For Ever's Pro Sculpting Duo in #2. Even her blush had golden hues! After finishing off her goddess-y look with a few coats of brow gel, golden eyeshadows, and a swipe of nude lipstick, she was all set.
