Heaven Peralejo's Bare-Faced Selfies Are Normalizing Acne and We're All For It

Contrary to what you may typically see on social media, celebrities don't have perfect skin. Just like you, your favorite stars have also experienced their own fair share of acne breakouts and bad skin days.

Some even choose to speak up about their insecurities in hopes that it will inspire others. For instance, Gen Z actress Heaven Peralejo recently took to Instagram to open up about her long and tedious battle with acne. 

Earlier today, the 22-year-old bravely posted unfiltered photos baring her real skin texture. She also wrote an honest and touching letter to accompany the bare-faced selfies.

"I've struggled battling with acne for so many years. I had a hard time accepting my skin because it just got worse to the point that it also affects my body weight. I was so scared to be judged especially in the industry I'm part of," she shared.

Although Heaven was insecure of her imperfect skin at first, she eventually learned to accept her flaws: "And then I realized that the problem is with those people who criticize you for being human. I am aware of my flaws and I embrace them."

She capped off her message by reminding everyone to practice self-love every day. "Never let anyone make you feel bad about yourself because of normal things! Love yourself and take care of yourself," she concluded. Wow, how well-said!
