Chie Filomeno And Blackpink's Jennie Have Similar Blonde Streaks And We're Here For It

We can’t blame you if you’ve been feeling the urge to switch up your hairstyles while in quarantine. You’re not the only one feeling like they need a change. In fact, there’s a certain hair color that’s been something of a trend on TikTok where people dye the front portion of their hair in different colors. Some even refer to it as the e-girl hairstyle and you'll find variations of it in blonde, pink, blue, and even green.
TBH, dyeing a few strands first is a good way to try a different color if you're a bit reluctant to change your entire hair color in one go. And since we're technically still in quarantine, there's no better time than now to experiment with new hair colors and try DIY home experiments.
Recently, local celeb Chie Filomeno tried out the beauty trend by dyeing her own tresses with blonde streaks. And in true internet fashion, she made a TikTok for it:
Here are some more photos of her slaying in her new ‘do, in case you need inspo:
If that doesn’t convince you, then maybe K-pop star Jennie from Blackpink will. She also recently sported the hair trend for their latest comeback with “How You Like That”. The song’s teasers featuring Jennie’s new hair color is ~fire~.
Ready for a new hairstyle? While it's always best to leave this to the pros, there's the option of DIY-ing, just like what Chie did.
If you're planning to take the DIY route, try looking up other people's vlogs about DIY-ing blonde streaks to familiarize yourself with the process before getting started (aside from TikTok, there's a lot on YouTube, too). Again, fair warning, bleaching is entirely different and on a whole 'nother level compared to simply dyeing your hair. You'll also need to take note of post-bleach hair care.
Here are a few ones we found (but remember to do your own research, too!):
